Mark use rules

How the TTC Mark may be shown, by whom, and what happens if it is misused.

Last updated 28 October 2026

1.Who may show the mark

Only the person named on a valid certificate, for the channels and tier named on it. Nobody else may show it, on any other channel, or for any other person.

2.When it must come down

The mark must not be shown once the certificate expires, is placed under review or is removed. The status is in the

registry

. The badge we provide reads that status, so it stops showing as valid on its own within a few minutes.

3.How to show it

  • Use the badge code on your certificate page in your portal. It links to your public record.
  • Do not recolour, rotate, crop, stretch, animate or add effects to the mark.
  • Do not combine it with other badges to make a new mark.
  • Say which tier you hold. Human Made and Human Led mean different things, and the mark must match your certificate.
  • Do not suggest it covers videos outside the audit sample or published after the audit period.
  • Say what it says: audited against the standard for a stated period. Do not say AI free or guaranteed human.

4.Misuse

Misuse is classed as innocent, negligent or fraudulent. We ask for a correction for innocent misuse. Repeated innocent misuse is treated as negligent. Negligent and fraudulent misuse can lead to removal, listed publicly with a reason code, and we may act against use by people who are not certified.

If you see the mark used wrongly, report it.

5.Licence

The mark remains ours. Accepting the terms of audit gives you a limited licence to show it as these rules allow, for as long as your certificate is valid.
