The Trusted Creator

Terms of audit

The agreement between you and us when you ask for an audit. You accept it in your portal before the audit starts.

Last updated 28 October 2026

1.What we do

The Trusted Creator audits your channel against the published standard for the tier you chose (Human Made or Human Led, defined in the standard), over a fixed 90 day period, at a limited level of assurance. If the evidence supports your claim, we issue a certificate and a public record.

2.What you agree to

  • Everything you tell us is true and complete, and the evidence you send is genuine and unaltered.
  • You have declared every AI tool and every contributor. Anything left out and found later is a critical finding.
  • You control the channels you named, and you will keep our channel code in your channel description until we finish.
  • You will reply to evidence requests within 10 business days (15 for a re-test), by upload or by share link, and keep the original of any file you share by link until your certificate ends and to findings within 7 days.
  • You will tell us within 14 days if the channel owner changes, if a platform strike for deceptive content is issued, or if you start using AI tools that affect your tier.

3.What we agree to

  • We apply the standard in the same way to every creator.
  • A random draw chooses the videos, and the seed is recorded. You cannot choose or swap them.
  • You see the findings and can reply before anything is decided.
  • A second auditor who did not work on your file reviews any refusal.
  • We keep your evidence private and handle it as set out in our privacy notice. We pass on a request from someone who wants to see it, but nothing is shared unless you approve, and identity and live session recordings are never shared.

4.Fees

The fee is shown in your portal and is fixed before any work starts. It does not depend on the outcome. A failed audit is not refunded once evidence review has begun. If you withdraw before review begins, you are refunded the fee less the cost of the identity check. There is no fee to appeal.

5.Outcomes

We may certify you, certify you with notes, or refuse. If the only gaps are small, you may supply more evidence within 15 business days and be re-tested once on a new random sample. We do not publish failed audits.

6.The certificate and the mark

A certificate lasts 12 months and says that the evidence reviewed supports your tier for the audit period. It is not a guarantee about anything outside the sample or after the period. You may show the TTC Mark only as set out in the

mark use rules

, only for the person, channels and tier named, and only while the certificate is valid.

7.Spot checks and removal

We check two new videos around month six. We may suspend or remove a certificate for undisclosed AI use, a false declaration, an unreported change of owner, a failed spot check or misuse of the mark. Removals are listed publicly with a reason code. You are told when it happens and can appeal.

8.Appeals

You can appeal within 20 business days under the

appeals procedure

.

9.Limits of our responsibility

We carry out the audit with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or lost business losses, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the fee you paid. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10.Changes and governing law

We may update the standard and these terms. A certificate always names the version of the standard it was audited against, and changes do not affect an audit already in progress without your agreement.

These terms are governed by the law stated in your audit agreement.
